What size wall art do you need?
A piece that's the wrong size is the most common regret in wall art — almost always because it was sized too small. Here's how to get it right the first time.

A starting point for common spots
These widths follow the 60–75% rule against typical Australian furniture and wall sizes. They're a starting point, not a strict rule — measure your own space where you can.

Above a sofa or bed, leave 15–25cm of breathing room between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame.

From eyes to size to wall
Every extra eye you add stretches the piece wider — so the number of eyes you choose already points you toward a size range. Here's how that maps to a real spot on your wall.

Hanging It Right
Getting the height and spacing right
Centre it at eye level
The centre of the piece should sit roughly 145–150cm from the floor — standard eye-level height, regardless of the room.
Leave breathing room above furniture
Above a sofa, bed, or console, leave 15–25cm of clear wall between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame.
Still unsure? Go one size up
If you're torn between two sizes, choose the larger one — a piece that's slightly too big reads as intentional; one that's too small reads as an afterthought.
